Tours in Australia

Can you recommend tours in Australia

We would like to visit Australia on an organized tour. My wife and I, Sylvia are 60 years of age and are physical fairly fit.

We do not want to plan, drive or seek accommodation by ourselves. We have not decided which area in Australia but love sight seeing, culture, historical and markets (Street / cluster shops)

Could you recommend any tour companies that would be appropriate for our age?

ANSWER

I'd recommend looking at a few tour operators that specialise in tours for your age group - the last thing you want is to be surrounded by young back packers!

Check out the following companies and what they offer (links in blue below)

It's hard for me to recommend which tour as it really depends what you want to see - it would be good to do a mixture of some of the East coast of Australia, taking in Sydney or Melbourne and then visiting the Red Centre or desert area to see the contrast between the two areas. Great Barrier Reef is also a good option around Cairns.

Sydney would be good for culture and history and has some lovely suburbs with great shops and markets.

The East Coast offers beautiful scenery and plenty of towns along the coast with lovely cafes and boutique shops as well as great beaches to stroll along.

The Red Centre would certainly tick your site seeing box as would the Great Barrier Reef. If you stay in Port Douglas and are there at a weekend, there is a lovely market here that you would enjoy.

Only other watch out is the time of year you intend to go - visiting the Great Barrier Reef all year round is possible but expect lots of rain and a bumpy crossing if you intend to be here during the key summer months October to May.

Hope this helps answer your question on Tours in Australia!
