There really are so many great things to do in Sydney. It has to be up there as one of the best cities in the world, on a par with London, New York and Paris.

Whatever you are into, you will find something here to entertain you. From the arts to magnificent views, beaches, shopping, museums, the zoo and aquarium and of course the iconic harbour with the opera house and Harbour Bridge.

The Best Things to do in Sydney

Below however gives you the best things to do in Sydney but in more detail. It's hard to put them into a top 10 but I have tried to. Use the Sydney Australia Map to find them:

Take the open top bus tour around the city - it's a great way to see all the key sites and get your bearings. You can hop on and hop off. Find out more here. Sydney Australia Opera House - such an icon of Sydney. You can do a tour or better still go and see a performance

The Harbour Bridge and of course the Bridgeclimb Probably the most spectacular things to do in Sydney. Are you up for climbing the historic Sydney Harbour Bridge?

Circular Quay- the are itself where you'll find both the opera house and Harbour bridge

The Rocks Sydney - The oldest part of Sydney with some interesting colonial buildings

Darling Harbour - A great place for a stroll or even have dinner right by the water

Sydney Aquarium Fancy seeing some great fish and getting up close and personal with a shark? or how about some Dugongs

Taronga Zoo Visit the best Sydney Australia Zoo. Meet the baby elephants and see Australian Animals. The views from the zoo over the city are also fabulous. Getting there by ferry is therefore a must.

Sydney Wildlife World - a central place to see all the Australian Animals

Bondi Beach Australia Probably the most famous of all of Sydney's beaches. Find out how to avoid the tourist traps and enjoy all that this iconic beach has to offer.

Australian Museum - for the culture vultures amongst you
