Tasmania Beach

"Don't underestimate a Tasmania Beach! "

Known mostly for its stunning scenery, is it really any wonder that Tasmania has some of the best beaches in Australia?

Most usually think of the East Coast of Australia when it comes to best beaches but trust me, Tasmania has some great beaches on offer.

The only problem is that the weather in Tasmania can be a bit cold! It's certainly not a destination that comes to mind for a proper beach holiday.

But if you are planning to visit a bit of the Island and fancy a few days on some secluded beaches, then come during the summer months between December and February - you are sure to be pleasantly surprised.

This page highlights some of the well known must see beaches as well as some of the locals favourites.

Bay of Fires, Tasmania

Located on the East coast of Tasmania, it is about 180km North of Hobart

Simply stunning, this Tasmania Beach has won awards.

The sand is so white and the waters are just perfectly clear. There are 35km of un-interupted sandy beach to admire and relax on.

The area is most well known for The Bay of Fires Walk. It's not cheap to do but is absolutely stunning. Accommodation is at the most awesome Bay of Fires Lodge (pictured below)

There are a few places to stay in the area including cottages and B&B's if you just want to admire the views and relax rather than take part in the hike.

Wine Glass Bay Tasmania

Probably the most photographed beach Tasmania. The views here will take your breath away.

Again located on the East coast of Tasmania, but this one you could visit as a day trip from Hobart if you wanted to base yourself in a city.

Picnic Rocks

Not far from the Bay of Fires this is another great Tasmania Beach.

Located in a picturesque National Park called Mount William, this is a photographers dream. The red rocks contrast so amazingly with the white sand and turquoise water.
