If there is one place I can recommend you to go whilst you are in Brisbane, it's here. There is always so much going on and its a beautiful spot right by the river. Just getting here is a nice experience given you can either catch a sea cat ferry here or walk over one of the bridges from the city. Either way, the views are good. Come for a stroll and you'll be amazed at how much time you can spend here. Don't forget your swimmers!
Things To See And Do
Go for a swim at Streets Beach - a man made beach with lovely views. It's safe for the kids too. A popular spot in the summer monthsTake a stroll along the bank. Or why not hire a bike or rollerblades if you are feeling energetic. You can hire bikes from Gardens Cycle Hire at the entrance to the Botanical Gardens Take in some culture - Not too far from Southbank Brisbane you will find the Culture Centre. Here you can spend a good few hours as there is the Gallery of Modern Art, Queensland Museum, Queensland Art Gallery and the Brisbane Library. There's always plenty of exhibitions both permanent and visiting. A chance to see some local and traditional art.Have a look at the Visitors Centre on Stanley Street. This is great place to find out more about what's on at the Culture Centre as well as anything else that might be happening in the SouthbankEnjoy some Al Fresco dining. My favourite street to eat out on is Little Stanley Street. You can't really go wrong on this road. Try Sardine Tin. Whilst it's not much to look at, the tapas here is awesome and a favourite with the locals. Even if you don't want to eat, there are some great little boutiques here to explore.If you are here over the summer then make sure you check out the outdoor cinema here with the big screen. It can be tricky getting tickets so book this one before you go
