Hotels Tasmania Australia
"Find the best hotels in Tasmania to suit your budget!"
There are plenty of hotels Tasmania Australia so picking the right one is always tricky! Below you will find my picks of the best, based on my personal recommendation or recommendations from friends that I trust.
The trick is to plan your route and decide where you want to be. If you are coming out of season then it's probably OK to book as you go, giving you more flexibility should you love a certain town or area. But, it's difficult to get the best accommodation if you leave everything to the last minute, particularly in the summer months.
Best Places to Stay in and Around Hobart
Henry Jones Art Hotel – Colonial meets funky. On the Harbour from £230. We stayed here and loved the contemporary feel of the hotel, especially the bathrooms. Great location to be able to enjoy the seafood restaurants on the harbour. Probably my favourite of the hotels Tasmania Australia.Somerset on the Pier – good location on the harbour, apartments from $250. Another good option if you like to be able to cook a few meals yourself. The restaurant just a couple of doors down is also good. The Old Woolstore Apartment Hotel – from $150. Cheaper than the above two options and gets good reviews from my friends. Offers hotel rooms, 1 and 2 bedroom apartmentsBudget: Astor Private Hotel from $85. The lady who runs this place makes it. Rooms are small but very clean. Good location close to the city and Salamanca markets.
If you fancy staying a night on the Tasman Peninsula, which is near Port Arthur I'd recommend:-Eaglehawk hideaway40 Ferntree RD B&B Tasman Peninsula -Lovely hosts, very clean and tidy and homely $140 or $220 for breakfast lunch and dinner for two.
Best Hotels in Launceston
I'd probably consider a B&B in Launceston rather than hotels Tasmania Australia, as there are so many great ones to choose from. If you want a more traditional hotel, try the Peppers option (last on this list)Hatherley House Hotel - we loved staying here. It's an 1830s mansion that has been transformed into a contemporary hotel that keeps the olde worldy charm too. The rooms are large, with a very interesting and modern bathroom. I particularly loved sitting on the terrace overlooking the garden having breakfast. More like a B&B than a traditional hotelCornwall Boutique Hotel - this little gem has everything including a good location right in the heart of the town> it has a great day spa, restaurant, cafe and a local store selling fresh produce. Werona Heritage B&B is another classy boutique hotel in a good location - infact it's more like a B&B. (like Hatherley House). A selection of rooms to choose from. Alice's Cottages & Spa hideaways are literally hidden away down a leafy street. Perfect for a romantic getaway. Think drapes and 4 poster beds and then you'll get the idea. 4 star B&B.Ashton Gate B&B another good option. Rooms are very olde worldy but hosts are very welcoming.Waratah on York - once the home to the Mayor of Launceston, this place offers traditional Victorian style rooms. Good breakfasts here! Peppers Seaport is just a short stroll into the centre and is a good all round traditional hotel. Peppers is well known in Australia for offering "affordable" luxury"
More Budget options:Best Western Balmoral - We were pleasantly surprised by this one. Good value and good serviceBatman Fawkner - Backpacker place but you can upgrade to have your own room. Offers good value and helpful staff
Hotels Around Freycinet National Park
Despite this being a very popular area to visit, there aren't heaps of hotels Tasmania Australia in this area.
You either have to pitch your own tent or head to Coles Bay or Bicheno.
For more details on these hotels and my thoughts you can go to Freycinet Tasmania
Saffire - We are talking THE place to stay but we are talking $1000's to stay here
Edge of the Bay - more affordable than the above!
Windows on Bicheno - 5 star B&B
Tidelines of Bicheno Apartments
Wintersun Garden Motel - Cheaper Motel option
