Glenelg Australia

"Glenelg Australia - Probably my favourite corner of Adelaide!"

If I can give you one piece of advice, it is to go to Glenelg. For me Adelaide itself was too quiet, especially once the city workers had cleared out.

We stayed in this delightful suburb just minutes outside of the big city and an easy drive or cheap taxi fare back to the airport.

What makes it so special for me is it feels like you are on holiday - The beach is lovely and the marina with its beautiful restaurants and bars is just incredibly inviting.

I can't think of anything better than enjoying a lazy lunch here with friends or family, followed by a quick dip!

What To See And Do In Glenelg Australia?

This is probably not the place for you if you really want to be up doing something all the time. This is the place to relax and enjoy a beach style holiday, with the convenience of having the city and all its amenities just 20 minutes away on the metro:

I'd consider basing myself here in Glenelg, rather than in Adelaide itself. It totally depends what you are after but personally, I think there is more life here. You can check out my recommendations at

Hotels in Adelaide

Hire yourself a bike and explore this seaside town and then take the cycle path all the way to the city and the Bontanical Gardens. You'll find bike hire at Glenelg Bike Hire, 754 Anzac Highway

Enjoy one of the many restaurants or bars on the marina. There are heaps to choose from and you can't go wrong! For a special occasion treat try the Top of the World revolving restaurant which offers a fine dining award winning experience

Take a dip at Glenelg beach or just soak up the sun. You can also take a stroll along the promenade or jetty
