Brisbane whilst less well known for its restaurants than say Melborne or Sydney, still has some fantastic places to eat and is a rising star in terms of international chefs and Michelin star restaurants. The good thing is that they are cheaper than those in Sydney and Melbourne

Here are my favourite restaurants.
Firstly head to these well known areas where there are heaps of great restaurants to choose from. Main areas include Fortitude ValleyBoundary Street in the West End on the South BankLittle Stanley street on the Southbank Maritime Museum end of the Parklands.The Full Moon at Sandbank or The Grand View at Cleveland Point for traditional pub with awesome views.Caxton Street - great seafood restaurantsEagle Street Pier - a good spot for restaurants and there is also a market here. Try Pier Nine 07 3226 2100 or Michael's Riverside 07 3832 5522. Cha Cha Char is also good but more expensive 3211 9944 If you want something special try Simple Pleasures Bistro and Bar - Award winning fine dining. Book ahead. For some fine dining try e'cco. This is the most award winning of any restaurant in Brisbane so the price tag matches but it is well worth it. 100 Boundary street (cnr Adelaide Street), Brisbane. Phone 3831 8344
Or how about Giannis, 12 Edward Street, Brisbane. Phone 3221 7655. This restaurant continues to win awards and has timeless elegant style.
