Believe it or not, the two have a very different vibe. Whilst the very central area (Known as the CBD - Central Business District) is very similar, the side streets, cafe vibe and shopping is not the same.

where you can visit 3 different wine regions -all an easy car journey from the centre. It's also the gateway to

- a personal favourite of mine.
Or, I'd look at

and a trip to the wine and beach region of the
If you intend to drive between Sydney and Melbourne then make sure you visit the Capital of Australia, as there are plenty of
things to do in Canberra
It's perfect for discovering the culture of Australia through its many museums and green open spaces.
If you are coming in the traditional winter months for Australia (April to October,) then a trip to
Darwin Australia orBroome Australia
would be great.
To get more of an understanding of an outback town, you could visit Alice Springs Australia but I would only recommend visiting here as part of a trip to Ayers Rock Australia.
