"Rundle Mall Adelaide - Shop til you drop!"
If shopping is your thing then you must head to this Mall. You'll find a whole variety of stores here including department stores, boutique stores and small shops.
What's so lovely about this centre is that it has been restored to its full glory. Built in the 1880's, it has Italianate lifts at both ends of the mall with a lovely dome in the centre. It is still modern but it still has its roots back in the 1880's.
What To See And Do
You'll find the Mall on Rundle Street in the heart of the city but it does sprawl over to North Terrace as well.
There are over 600 stores to visit including Australian giants like David Jones and Myer Department stores. So you'll get to experience all the classic Australian brands and stores.
Opening times are pretty good - 9-7pm with late night shopping on a Thursday night (9pm) and 9-5 on Saturday, 11-5 on Sunday.
What is so nice about this mall is the lovely Arcades. Adelaide Arcade is probably the most popular. There about 15 in total and the decor and boutique shops are interesting to browse through.
You'll be hard pressed to miss a busker or street entertainer here too - there is always something going on - Fashion shows, jugglers and street entertainers.
Kids love the bronze pigs here in the mall- Can you believe they even have names! - Truffles, Oliver, Horatio and Augusta.
The Mall's balls (Officially the Bert Flugelman's Spheres) are also pretty impressive and worth a view.
Don't forget to enjoy a bite to eat or coffee and cake in one of the many cafes that are prominent in the mall too.
Palace Nova Cinemas is just a short walk from the mall too with 10 screens to choose from.
