Australian Cattle Drive
"Experience the Real Outback"
The Australian Cattle Drive is an amazing experience. Perhaps you've seen the movie "Australia" or maybe you're into horseriding. Whichever, this could be a fantastic adventure to include in your trip. It's a 5 day trip and costs £3200 per person. Accommodation and meals (but not alcohol) are included in the price.
When to go
The company responsible for the experience, only runs the drive during August. The next one is August 2010.
Getting here
The start point is from Adelaide. From here you can join the experience by air (Rex) or by a coach provided by the cattle drive company.
You can also incorporate a trip on the famous Ghan train. Click here for more information on train travel and
The Ghan.
Getting Around
The good news is that you don't need to have any experience and novice horseriders can also take part in the Drive.
Clearly you get around of horseback!
What to see and do
As well as taking part in the
Australian Cattle Drive
(a typical day covers about 14km) you can also take tours or rest at the campsite.
There are festivities along the way and a campfire every evening.
Accommodation is in nice tents and meals tend to be buffet style.
